Interracial Relationships

I have been having a hard time to get an older interracial couple. Yesterday I was finally able to get pics of a couple in their forties. They were excited, especially the female in the relationship. She likes everything about the interracial project that I am working. I was able to get some pretty nice shots of them. The lady is also ready for the interview section of the project. I glad that i was able to get some pics yesterday it help my project out even more.

Self expression

I had some letters that I wanted to use for a shoot, but have not had a chance to use them until now. Did a couple of headshots for my friend, because she had a casting call and needed sum basic headshots. After we was done with what she needed it was time to have some fun. Yes I know I know you may be thinking Dontez and letters, what words will he make. Well you got me I could not make any words the would not catch a person's eye. I also tend to put some of my models through crazy situations, but they love it. We have already establish that I have jokester crazy personality.

Body Paint

Yesterday was a pretty good day for me, eventhough it was a rainy day outside. A model that lives in Tuskegee, Alabama by the name of Kelsi hit me up for a shoot. She was down here in Georgia to promote a beverage. So we got the talking about what the shoot was going to consist of and we both were game. She arrived at the studio and the vibe that we had with one another was good. I must say she was very comfortable in her skin. She is also a tall model with good bone structure, which is a plus. She took direction well and hit pretty much all of the poses that i ask her to do. All in all I had a wonderful time taking pics of this model, and i feel she added some great pictures to my portfolio.

Yesterday was a good day to get back into taking pictures. I have not took any pictures for like a week 1/2 prior to yesterday. I came out to the school firstly to help one of the Deltas cut wood for the greek week they are having. They are making a magazine framework for people to walk through. Its Delta week this week so they have a lot of events going on this week. After i got done helping with the framework me and my friend thats a Delta went out to do a photoshoot. We shot at an abandon location near the school. I have shot at this location once before, so I know what i was already getting myself into. The place is nice and ruggid with vines, and residue. I was able to get some pretty nice shots in.

While I was watching Law & Order on USA, an artist came on a commercial. The artist paintings and photography where beautiful, I am thinking to myself he does some nice work. The work looked like it popped right off of the page. I thought these massive pieces of art was paintings and photography until they zoomed in. The artwork that this artist created is actually different materials such as coffee, cotton, sugar, and many more items. The artist that I am talking about is Vik Muniz. This artist has truly inspired me. He made me realize that art can be an illusion of the mind in a sense. This artist has inspire me to push my clothing that I am making even further.

Postcard

I have been working on some postcards over my spring break. At this point and time I wish I wound have taken graphic design. The postcard are looking good to me, but I really think I may need a graphic designer's opinion. Making the cards has been fun for me, it has also been challenging. On Tuesday I will get class feedback on the postcard design that I made. Hopefully the feedback will be genuine enough to learn and prosper from.

Insight

On tuesday I had my capstone meeting and it was really insightful. The professor in my committee gave me different artist to look at for the project I will be working on for my senior show. They pick my brain for a full hour and I have to admit my brain was hurting afterwards. I have been making sketches of some of the items I will be making next semester. I will push the boundaries so this project for my senior show will be presented in the right way.
