While I was watching Law & Order on USA, an artist came on a commercial. The artist paintings and photography where beautiful, I am thinking to myself he does some nice work. The work looked like it popped right off of the page. I thought these massive pieces of art was paintings and photography until they zoomed in. The artwork that this artist created is actually different materials such as coffee, cotton, sugar, and many more items. The artist that I am talking about is Vik Muniz. This artist has truly inspired me. He made me realize that art can be an illusion of the mind in a sense. This artist has inspire me to push my clothing that I am making even further.

Woah! I'm surprised you found this in the USA channel lol Usually all I see is crappy insurance commercials but I'm glad you did. I just looked at his site http://www.vikmuniz.net/ and I loved the self-portraits that he did back in 2005.

He had a commercial though? for what was he advertising? But yes, another great example/artist who is able to look at materials many see as mundane and make something new.
