engagement

On Saturday I took a drive down to Peachtree City. I had some engagement pictures that I needed to take for Esther and Steve. Now keep in mind I have not taken engagement pictures in about a five months now. I had to get back in the mindset of this type of photography. The reason being is that most of my pictures have been on the edgy side of things lately. I have been given the title as "the edgy photographer" for a few months now, but I am much more then just an edgy photographer. I am glad i got a chance to do some engagement pictures, because it made me get back to doing these type of pictures.

Not today

On Thursday i got a call from my friend, she wanted to do a photoshoot with her new short hair. I asked her where she wanted to do the photoshoot at and of course she said the photo studio. I told her that I really did not want to shoot in the studio. She convince me to shoot in the studio, because females tend to get their way for some odd reason. We shot in the studio for about an hour and i could not take it anymore. I told her and my other friend that i was tired of shooting in the studio and we needed to go on location. I pack the equipment up and we headed outside for the rooftop. It was about 8pm when we started shooting on the rooftop. The fact that i have my own equipment, lighting was not an issue for shooting night time pictures. I must say we got some nice shots on the rooftop, and because it was dark it gave a nice effect to the pictures. In the end i was glad I stepped up and said we need to get out of this studio.

clothing

I have been doing an independent study this semester. It has been fun and challenging to make these items come to life. The stuff i have been working on are clothes made from different items. I have been using many different techniques, to figure out how i want certain clothes presented. Here are a few items that i have been working on.

7 hours

Saturday was a busy day for me. I started shooting at 5pm and did not stop till 12am. For the first go round i shot for one of my clients for class. The shoot went well and she had a lot of scarf that she wants to add to her line. After i got done with my client i shot some pics to add to my editorial assignment even though i have more then enough pictures. I had a total of 6 models ranging from light to dark skin for my editorial assignment. After me and the crew got done with the editorial we decided to shoot another handbag spread. All in all i had a wonderful time shooting for 7 hours straight.

I am officially on the web. My website that took so long to make is finally up. This website was really interesting because it made me think about how i want to portray my photography. I have gotten a lot of positive feedback on my website. Some of the people actually wanted me to put more of my edgier pictures on the site, but i think ill just keep them in my portfolio. All in all i am satisfied with my site. So turn on the PC or MAC and check out www.dtaphotography.com

photoshoot

So I was feeling uninspired for a few days, due to the fact that i was sick. I called my friend to tell her that i was feeling a little better. We decided that the shoot would be september 15th. I waited until that date to see if I would get inspired by then for the shoot. She came to the photo studio energentic and it really brought my spirit up. My day was truely brighten, because she is always an upbeat person. She also brought a wonderful make up artist, that did an amazing job on the make up. The shoot went great, we got to keep it professional and fun at the same time.

ROYULTY

Had a photoshoot for a new line of clothing named Royulty on Aug 29. I thought I would have a little dilemma before i got to school. The keycards have not been working for art majors to get access to certain rooms in the school for the past two weeks. So i was dreading the fact that i might have to wait 30mins to an hour for public safety to let me in to the photo studio. I came out to the school hoping to get into the photo studio for this shoot. Surprise surprise the key card worked so public safety actually did not have to come out in let me into the photo studio. That took a bunch of weight off of my shoulders.

The photoshoot went extremely well the clothing looked good as well as the fitted hats. The clothing was clean, presentable, and is something i would wear. The environment was excellent, everyone got along with each other. We had too much fun, but we still kept it professional as always. Many ideas arouse with how the clothing is presented and new items for the clothing line more so on the female aspect of things. I look forward to working with the creator of Royulty Clothing Line in the near future.

Power and Confidence Series

I have been working on a series that display aspects of simplistic portraiture, yet in a meaningful perspective. The series consist of the colors red and blue, which represent power in confidence. I have been experimenting with two different method for applying the colors used in this series. The methods are painting the face, as well as applying pencil make up to the face. While working on this project I like to interact with the models. This helps me figure out the model as a person and how their emotions plays into the series at hand.
